A super start with the foursomes matches. Cornwall won all the matches to take a 3-0 lead in the morning against Wiltshire. Danielle and Megan won 2&1, Cath and Jan won 1up, Wendy and Olivia won 2up. In the afternoon singles there was a halved match for Megan, Danielle won 3&1, Laura won 5&4, Caroline and Victoria both lost 4&2 and Olivia won 5&3. Overall it was a win for Cornwall by 6.5-2.5 games. Well played everyone.

On the 1st day of Match Week Cornwall played Dorset. The team got off to a good start going 2.5-0.5 up in the Foursomes with a win for Emily and Danielle 1up and also for Cath and Jan 5&4 and a halved match for Wendy and Megan. The afternoon singles was closer with a loss for Danielle 3&2, a win for Olivia 4&3, a halved match for Laura, a win for Caroline 2up, a loss for Victoria 3&2 and a loss for Megan 5&4. Overall it was a 5-4 win for Cornwall getting off to a great start to the week. In other matches Gloucestershire beat Wiltshire 6-3 and Somerset beat Devon 6.5-2.5

The Andrews Bowl is awarded for the best gross score of the day. The weather was fine and the CSS was 74. Read more →64 ladies qualified for the matchplay rounds of the womens amateur championships at Royal County Down. On Thursday morning Emily played German, Polly Mack winning 4 and 3. In the afternoon she took on Italian Valentina Albertazzi winning 3 and 2. Into the last 16 on Friday morning and a tough match against South Korean Min A Yoon with Emily eventually winning on the 20th hole. In the afternoon it was another close game against Swedish player Beatrice Wallin with a 1 up win for Emily to see her into the semi final on Saturday. Emily played another Swedish player Linn Grant winning 2 up and moving on to the final. The final was played against New Zealands Amelia Garvey, this match was very close with the first 4 holes halved, Amelia going 1 up on the 5th. Read more →On Monday teams of 3 pairs from 20 Clubs competed in the 36 hole medal competition for the Baron Rose Bowl and the Baron Rose Bowl team trophy at The Point at Polzeath. The weather in other parts of Cornwall was horrendous, but it was breezy with blue skies and sunshine for the competitors. The scores were mixed but the winners of the trophy, Collette Burgess and Mandy Congdon from Bude had two steady rounds with a total of 142. Runners up Sarah Shobrook and Olivia Trewhela from Perranporth, were 6 shots behind with a total of 148 one shot ahead of 3rd place Mo Hammond and Carmel Connors from Falmouth on 149.
